Verigene® CYP2C19 Nucleic Acid Tests

Nanosphere is in late stage development of two tests that will detect variations in the Cytochrome P450, subfamily IIc, polypeptide 19 gene (CYP2C19) whose protein product plays key roles in drug metabolism.  These genetic variations lead to the production of altered forms of the CYP2C19 protein that may affect the way individuals metabolize blood thinners, antibiotics, antidepressants, and various other therapeutics. 

In this area, Nanosphere is developing two tests:

Verigene® CYP2C19 XP Nucleic Acid Test (For Investigational Use Only)

This test is available today and is intended for sponsored investigational studies.  It provides broad coverage of potentially clinically relevant CYP2C19 alleles:  *1A wild-type, *2A, *3, *4, *5A, *6, *7, *8, *9, *10, and *17.
