Position Overview
Nanosphere is committed to recruiting an outstanding Instrument Manufacturing Technician during a critical period of the Company's growth and evolution. The Instrument Manufacturing Technician will report directly to the Platform Development department Mechanical Engineer, and will serve as a key member of the manufacturing team.
The Instrument Manufacturing Technician is responsible for a wide spectrum of manufacturing functions for the development team. A key success factor for this position is the ability to be a self starter, highly organized, hands-on across a wide area of responsibilities and detail oriented. The Technician is expected to take ownership of recurring routine manufacturing steps, drive process improvements within the instrument manufacturing area and actively participate in improvement projects.
This ideal Instrument Manufacturing Technician candidate is someone with diverse experience and great capacity and desire for taking on new responsibilities and challenges as the company grows. As this position grows there may be a possibility of travel to customer sites to install and repair instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine manufacturing steps:
- Assembling electromechanical medical instruments,
- Instrument release testing and documentation
- Troubleshoot production problems
- Maintain a professional manufacturing facility
- Perform instrument depot repair service
- Clean and maintain equipment per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- Assist with inventory control
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in working in a manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Associates Degree required with technical background
- Hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and trouble-shooting experience
- Experience with electronic production testing desirable
- Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, etc.) is desirable.
- Great attention to detail and commitment to excellence in review and work product.

- Demonstrated ability to execute standard operating procedures reliably and with consistent outcomes
